SecureMetric recently launched its latest product, Centralized Authentication Gateway or CENTAGATE during the National eID & ePassport Conference 2012 at Sunway Resort & Spa. The product was launched by CyberSecurity’s Chairman, General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Panglima Mohd Azumi Bin Mohamed (Retired) and was witnessed by over 30 speakers, 200 delegates from over 40 countries who came to attend the conference on the 8th and 9th October 2012.
With the launching of CENTAGATE, corporate Web, client/server and existing applications can now use a single platform for multiple kinds of authentications and readily provides a centralized, flexible and scalable authentication service which allows minimal implementation effort for multi-factor authentication implementation. CENTAGATE is also a cloud ready solution.
CENTAGATE is aimed at helping organisations, both public and private to consolidate their authentication services into 1 user login credentials. This consolidation will ensure that these organisations save money on their operating cost while at the same time ensure that their systems are secured. Organisations now do not need to invest separately on their own authentication servers but instead they just need to subscribe on to CENTAGATE.
CENTAGATE also makes multi-factor authentication user-friendlier for the end users. With CENTAGATE, users can use the same tokens (OTP or PKI) for all services that subscribe to
CENTAGATE. This will eliminate the need for users to carry multiple tokens (each token for 1 authentication service).
Up till now, CENTAGATE has already signed MoUs with payment solution providers in Vietnam and Indonesia. SecureMetric expects CENTAGATE to be used in products in the 2nd quarter of 2013.
CENTAGATE is the brainchild from the collaboration between SecureMetric and MIMOS. It’s an excellent example on how public and private organizations can work together and come up with a great product. More information on CENTAGATE can be found here
